In the heart of the Cyclades, a paradise for plants
Amorgos has, for an island, a huge variety of plants with more than 550 registered species of
flora. Somehow this narrow mountainous island, with its sun, soil and wind, its geological and
geomagnetic conditions, come together to produce a rich and beautiful microclimate. Plant
analysis show many of the naturally occurring herbs to contain an unusually high content of
essential oils giving these plant foods-medicines a full flavour, an abundant scent and
heightened healing qualities.
